laundry

If you’re like me, you’re fed up doing laundry. Perhaps because the process is so drawn out and requires many steps, people just seem to avoid doing laundry for as long as they can.
So if you’re one of those people who smells your clothes to see if you can get a second or third use out of them, you’re going to love learning these clothes cleaning hacks that will make life just a little bit easier.

The first trick involves cleaning your jeans. If you don’t want the color in your new jeans to fade, you can mix some water and salt together and rub it into your pair of jeans. The salt helps the colors set into the fabric and will slow down the fading process. Great!

Another life hack for cleaning your jeans is to stuff them into a freezer bag and throw your favorite pair into the freezer. Levi’s says that freezing your jeans can actually eliminate odor. It works!
When washing your colored clothes, always use cold water instead of warm or hot. Not only will this save money on your electric bill, it helps prevent the colors from running and clothes from shrinking.

If you’re clothes iron broke, try using your hair dryer.
While washing your whites, pour in a cup of white vinegar during the rinse cycle to keep them vibrant. For darks, pour in a cup of table salt to the rinse cycle.

If you’re washing machine is dirty, pour in ½ a cup of mouthwash into the empty machine and run it to help disinfect and clean it out!
